The English Karate Governing Body (EKGB) was formed in 1991, by the amalgamation of two bodies, The English Karate Council (EKC) and The English Karate Board (EKB).

The EKGB consists of member associations representing individuals practicing karate in England. Each member association sends representatives to council meetings to discus the business of the EKGB and to formulate policies concerning the practice and development of karate within England.
