Tickets for the 2003 Super Cup matches at Aston Villa Leisure Centre in Birmingham are now on sale. Birmingham will host the second weekend of fixtures and home team Birmingham University Blaze will hope that at that stage in the competition they are close to the top of the league table. Home team, the Blaze will take on Petchey London Tornadoes at 4pm on the Saturday, which will prove to be a tightly contested match. Tornadoes are the only side in the competition who Blaze have yet to beat having lost all three of their previous matches. Birmingham University Blaze will be hoping that being on home ground and having lots of their supporters watching will help them to overcome their bogey team. On Sunday Blaze will once again play the final match of the day when they take on Northern Thunder, the side who denied them the title in 2002. After two great games against each other in the 2002 Super Cup the crowd can only hope for another epic battle. Birmingham University Blaze will be fielding England players Alex Astle, Ama Agbeze and Karen Aspinall. Agbeze will be making her debut for the Blaze having previously represented Team Bath Force in 2001 and 2002. She will return to be coached by Colette Thomson, her current coach at Club competition and a previous County coach before she went to Bath. Agbeze, excited about making her debut for Blaze said "I am excited about the opportunity to play for the Blaze, we have a strong line up which is very versatile, I hope that the Blaze will do well this year, it would be great to represent them in my first final." The City of Birmingham is a regular favourite to host high-class Netball fixtures having hosted the 9th World Netball Championships in 1995, and being a regular choice for hosting International fixtures at both the NEC and the NIA. Birmingham University Blaze will be hoping to have a sell out crowd behind them as they aim to make the final for the third consecutive year, and who knows they may just take the title too!!
