Club Development
Club SX
72 clubs have now achieved Club SX Gold status with a number of other applications currently being assessed.
Clubs who attain Club SX currently receive a coach education voucher to the value of £100 (this is a limited offer).
Please remember that if a club already has NGB accreditation or clubmark they are automatically entitled to Club SX Accreditation
Competition
A competition was run recently for accredited clubs. Essex County Cricket Board kindly donated an Essex CCC shirt signed by the 1st XI.
Nazeing Common Cricket Club were the lucky winners.
We will be looking to run future competitions for Club SX clubs.

Community Sports Coach Scheme
Applications
All CSCS applications are currently on hold. As soon as further information is available from Sport England this information will be passed onto partners
Inductions
Carrie Bywater (scUK CDO for Essex) is working with the Community Sports Coaches that are currently in post. Mark Aldous and Carrie recently ran an induction evening for the coaches and Carrie is now offering the coaches 1-2-1 support.
Coach Induction Packs
A coach induction pack has been put together by the Coaching Sub Group. This will shortly be available on www.escalate.me.uk
It is intended as a Good Practice document that partners can use and adapt for their own needs. It is constantly under review so if you have any comments please let us know.
Coach Manager Training Day
A successful training day was held in Chelmsford in October. The following sessions were run:

Step into Sport
The Step into Sport Young Leaders One-Day Conference will be held at the University of Essex on 29th March 2006.

Essex Youth Games 2006
To be held on Saturday 17th June 2006 in and around Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre.

Hockey
Officials
Level 1 Umpires Course – 23rd October at University of Essex – fully subscribed.
All delegates passed written paper and are now busily arranging practice matches in preparation for their practical assessment.
Additional course was arranged for 4th December at Havering Hockey Club
Coaches
Level 1 Coaching Course – 23rd, 30th October and 13th November – Chelmsford Hockey Club – fully subscribed
Next course arranged for 5th, 12th and 26th March at University of Essex
Player Development
U12 Development Squad Training – first three sessions completed in September. Next set of three arranged for April 06.
Older age group squad training arranged for November – only 4 players registered therefore course cancelled – have been invited to younger group.
Netball
Satellite Academies
To date the Satellite Academies and the one County Academy have been set up. Finding venues has been extremely difficult, as centres don’t want bookings for once every two weeks.
The Satellite trials for Basildon/Southend and Thurrock were held in November and 98 turned up in Basildon and 76 in Thurrock. Chelmsford had a similar number.
20 per Satellite were taken so looking for funding in each area to run another 10 weeks. To date St Claires School has managed to obtain funding to run another 10 weeks.
The county Academy has started and is being run out of Woodlands School, Basildon.
Colchester Satellite assessment is set up for the beginning of December.
Hi Five
Looking into which areas want to start up Hi Five with a view to setting centres in three areas.
Courses
Tutors and venues are being booked – further details to follow.
Girls’ Football
• School Festivals took place recently in Harlow and Southend which have linked in with the 8 week girls football programme which started earlier in the term.
• School sessions within Brentwood have begun to promote the 8-week club programme
• 16 Females were assessed for the Level 2 coaching course and 12 passed.
• 19 Females out of 22 were successful on the subsidised referee course
• 12 girls attended the Uttlesford Girls only football day in half term
• Taster sessions are ongoing within the Rayleigh area. The 8-week programme started the first weekend in December and linked in with Charter Standard club Rayleigh Raiders.
• Taster sessions have just come to an end within Billericay. The 8-week program has started with Billericay Town who are starting a new girls section.
• Harlow CVL continues with 40 – 50 girls attending every week.
• Colchester Development Centre for U10’s continues with 15 girls attending.
• ECSFA trials were successful – 2 squads were selected for U14 and U16 age groups. The first tournament was in October half term and both teams took home first place trophies.
Cricket
Stage 1
Community Sports Coach is working in 4 SSCO partnerships and also targeting women and girls’ projects. All going well.
Stage 2
3 new club mark clubs, Great Baddow, Kelvedon and Stort CC. 26 now in Essex.
Stage 3
996 nominations for districts trails via web based system. Trials to take place in Jan/Feb 06.
Stage 4
Squads will be formed from stage 3.
