ON the first Friday in March, Bishops Stortford Squash Club, in partnership with England Squash and Hi-Tec, ran a fantastically successful Racketball evening - the first of its kind in the region.

After a brief introduction to the history and rules of the game, guests from the club and around the region were treated to some superb exhibition matches featuring current National Champion Daryl Selby, Paul Allen of Lexden Squash Club and O35 National Champion and England Squash Head of Development, Jim Lord. After some exhausting singles games the players teamed up for an exciting doubles finale featuring Lord and Allan vs Daryl and Elliot Selby. The hectic and fast paced nature of this final game really got the crowd in the mood to have a go themselves and they were in luck as the star players used the last of their energy to lead some excellent coaching sessions! Players were able to try out the unfamiliar new rackets and balls and benefit from top class tuition from the experts. The pro players offered tips and inspiration to individuals of all ages and abilities and hopefully inspired many of them to take up the game in the new Stortford leagues set to start soon.

After working up a hunger on court, guests then headed up to the bar to enjoy a free hot buffet and liquid refreshments put on by club manager Karen Selby!

Special thanks must go to Karen for organising the evening, to the players for their time and support and also to Hi-Tec who supplied every guest with a free goody bag.
