Trio of medals for Team England Pune shooters
19th January 2009Three Team England shooters who saw action at last year’s Commonwealth Youth Games will return home from representing Team GB at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney with medals.
James Huckle, Sheree Cox and Victoria Mullin all represented Team England at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India in October 2008 and then went on to earn selection for Team GB in Sydney.
Huckle, who won three golds in Pune, added another gold to his trophy cabinet when he won the10m air rifle title on Friday.
Cox followed that up by winning silver in the 50m rifle three-positions at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival on Saturday with a score of 640.9. She won gold in the same discipline in Pune, when she also collected a bronze medal.
Victoria Mullin won bronze in the 10m air pistol on Saturday with a total score of 463.7. She just missed out on a second medal in Sydney, finishing fourth in the 25m pistol, shooting a total of 724.6.
