EFDS partner with Sportfocus
23rd February 2009SportFocus is delighted to announce it's latest contract award with the English Federation of Disability Sport for the implementation of a new website and an eLearning module for the Advocacy and Activity Buddy Scheme (AABS) project.
The aim of the project is to increase the participation of disabled people in sport and physical activity. This will be achieved through supporting sports providers and partners in setting up volunteer ‘Activity Buddy’ programmes with the aide of free written resources, templates and online volunteer training. The scheme is suitable from large national partnerships such as National Governing Bodies, County Sports Partnerships and Primary Care Trusts to local clubs which offer activities for both disabled and non-disabled people.
There will also be an online training resource made available to those prospective Activity buddies which will allow them to access their training at their own convenience. All resources are provided in fully accessible formats, and available on request.
The eLearning module will consist of a number of written modules and question papers, each volunteer will need to obtain a ‘pass’ in each module before being allowed to move the next stage.
Sitting at the core of the system will be our Database module which will enable the project team to track and communcate with all participants.
