More than 600 Pupils expected at K3 games
10th June 2009The University of Bath will be host to the third K3 Games on the 12th June.
Over 600 secondary school pupils and young leaders from the Bath and North East Somerset Authority will have the opportunity to take part in 16 sports ranging from fencing to floorball.
The event, to be opened by Paralympic medallist Ben Rushgrove, will have activities in the morning and afternoon with the pupils also taking part in the annual Olympic Day Run over the lunch period.
The K3 Games is in its third year of delivery, an event hosted in partnership with the University of Bath, Sport and Active Leisure and Wesport County Sports Partnership and this year supported by RELAYS through its Community Classrooms and Cultural strands.
Olympic Day is on 23rd June the anniversary of the founding of the International Olympic Committee in 1894. Anyone who participates will be joining tens of thousands of other people celebrating the ideals of the Olympic Movement around the world some 168 National Olympic Committees worldwide take part in the Olympic Day run each year.
For participants who do not wish to attempt the 3km Fun Run, there will be the opportunities to attend a street dance or a circus skills Workshop.
