On Friday 10th July the Y6 Mixed National Finals were held on a lovely summer day at StaffordGrammar School. The famous Scooby Doo attended the event assisting our lovely Event Organiser by collecting the score cards and also entertaining the children.

An amazing 18 teams played at this years finals including Portsmouth Grammar School, Stafford Prep, Birchley St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Longford Primary, Kirk Sandall Junior School, Riccall School, Ireland Wood Primary, Holy Name, New End, Pretty Gate Junior, Alton Park Junior, Alder Coppice, Scargill Junior, Church Langley Primary, Cooper & Jordan C of E, St Josephs, St Helens Primary and St Marys.

All the teams played brilliantly which is credit to the hard work of all the children and teachers. StaffordGrammar School provided a brilliant venue and their team successfully made it through to the quarter finals where they lost to the winners Portsmouth Grammar. The final was an exciting game between PortsmouthGrammar School and AltonPark with PortsmouthGrammar School winning the final by 7 Rounders to 4 Rounders.

Alan Fergus, Development and Competition Director at Rounders England and Clive O’Donnell, Headteacher at StaffordGammarSchool presented trophies to the children.  Matt Llewllyn from HolyNameSchool was also named Leading Scorer of the day. Although he had never played before he scored a massive six Rounders.
