Rounders Is Changing!
Will You Join Us?
Until this year, the National Governing Body of rounders was the National Rounders Association. It is now Rounders England.
The change is much more than a change of name and logo.
The role of the old NRA Executive Committee was both strategic and operational. Its members were initially all volunteers and they attempted to direct our sport and run it on a day to day basis.
A higher level of funding has enabled us to implement significant changes, and dictated others.
Day to day operations are increasingly carried out by paid staff. The Board of Directors (all volunteers apart from the CEO) manage strategic development towards meeting the targets set out in our Whole Sport Plan. Four sub-committees support the Board by taking the lead on operational tasks and helping shape developments in different areas related to the WSP. They play a pivotal role in ensuring rounders continues to develop and support those playing the sport.
The roles for all of these volunteers is far less onerous than they have been in the past and provide real opportunities to be part of, and influence the most exciting era in our development so far. Each sub-committee meets twice a year unless issues arise that require additional time. We have only recently begun appointing representatives to these sub-committees and have a number of vacancies.
Below is a list of our sub-committees and current vacancies. If you have a interest in being involved in the evolution of rounders over the next few years please consider volunteering for one of these sub-committees.
