Top-flight international sport at the University of Bath
13th October 2009An exciting week of top-flight international sporting action gets underway at the University of Bath tonight (Tuesday) when England’s netballers take on World Champions Australia.
It is followed on Thursday with another international netball fixture as England face Commonwealth Champions New Zealand.
Both fixtures will take place in front of around 1800 spectators at the University of Bath Sports Training Village. The games will get underway at 7pm, with the teams due on court for the warm-up from 6.15pm.
The England teams for the two Co-operative International Netball matches are set to feature a number of TeamBath players.
On Friday (16th October) attention turns to England’s badminton players as they face Japan in an international match getting underway at 6.45pm.
The England team, who are supported by Center Parcs, features all four of the six players who represented Great Britain at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games who are still playing competitive badminton, including Nathan Robertson, who won silver at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
The match will feature men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles, and a mixed doubles contest. The action gets underway at 6.45pm.
All three matches are key fixtures for England teams less than a year away from the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.
