The TID of players has to be an ongoing exercise and one or two competitions and training camps will not satisfy the need to discover the most potentially talented handball players from our population. We would all agree that inviting individual players to camps with no previous means of pre-assessment might lead to an endless list of requests, inequalities and complaints. The process below gives clear guidelines and an opportunity for all to start the referral protocol for those athletes considered to have real potential.

The process below gives clear guidelines and an opportunity for all to start the referral protocol for those athletes considered to have real potential.
In order to have a system which allows teachers and coaches to refer players who they think have the potential for international handball, the following procedures will be implemented with immediate effect for the England Youth male and female squads.
1. Teacher / Coach must supply a detailed report - addressing ability, character and sportsmanship, position, how many games per week, achievements
2. In-game DVD footage - full competitive game.
3. Data protection and child protection and England eligibility issues are properly addressed from source.
4. Measurements including height, height of biological parents if possible, weight.
5. Medical conditions and injuries to be aware of which may hinder ability to train
6.Teacher /Coach must send all the above to directly to the EHA Office and copy in their EHA County Co-ordinator where one exists.
Head coaches would also be happy to discuss any particular cases where access to a competitive game by the athlete in question is proving difficult.
