The Mens team faced Slovenia in their second match of the Liebherr 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Moscow
Paul Drinkhall got the team away to a good start with a 3 straight game win over Slovenia Defender, Sas Lasan but from there on it all went wrong. Slovenian No 1 Bojan Tokic, the world no 58 was just too strong for Liam Pitchford and he lost in three straight games. The third game Andrew Baggaley against Slovenian No 3 Mitja Horvat just would not go Andrew's way he lost three straight but all were really close. 2-1 to Slovenia
So to the battle of the No 1's Paul Drinkhall against Bojan Tokic, and it was a real battle, Tokic started the stronger taking the first game but Paul recovered to take the second on deuce, the third game was the key Paul moved to a 8-5 lead with 5 unanswered points but Tokic fought back to sneak the game 11-9. The fourth was another dogfight but the Slovenian triumphed on deuce to take the team match for Slovenia by 3 matches to 1
