It is no shock at all to report that in the last match of Stage 1 of the Liebherr 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Moscow, the England Women went the way of all before them, China won 3-0 in less than an hour.

The England Women finish in 5th place in their first stage group and Kelly Sibley at least has looked like she belongs playing at this level. Joanna,  Hannah and Karina have found it tough but they are not at all far away from competing in this high level competition.

A full report of this match with extensive quotes from Alan Cooke and some of the Chinese Team is available here.

The Mens second stage has been drawn and England Men have a bye in the first round playoffs for position 37-48 and must wait for the result of a match this afternoon between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Latvia before they know their opponents for tomorrow, the Womens second stage draw is not yet published.
