Dunbartonshire Disability Sports Club had its successful launch day on Saturday 20th March 2010 where children with disabilities came to try their hand at new sports. Since then the club has been going from strength to strength.
The newly established Dunbartonshire Disability Sports Club has been awarded £17 000 in Fairer Scotland Funding, and will be working with West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership and West Dunbartonshire Council to build a quality club with great opportunities for its members. The funding will allow the club to develop its’ committee members, as well as the policies and procedures by which the club will run. Similarly, coaches will benefit from many of the education and training opportunities provided by Scottish Disability Sport and National Governing Bodies of Sport.
By building a sustainable and quality structure, the club will be able to provide an excellent service for its members to take part in sport, and to develop through sport. This illustrates the positive developments happening within disability sport in West Dunbartonshire and the support the club receives from West Dunbartonshire Council and the wider community.
