Rhythm and blues for England duo

13th October 2010

England’s medal winning rhythmic gymnasts failed to match their team bronze yesterday in the individual all-around today.

Lynne Hutchison and Francesca Fox came ninth and 11th respectively in today’s events in a competition notable for the fact it was the first time since the sport was introduced to the Commonwealth Games in 1990 that no Canadian appeared on the podium.

The two City of Bath GC gymnasts had pushed the Canadians hard for silver yesterday with team-mate Rachel Ennis.

Tomorrow all three of the bronze-winning team will be in action at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex as they all go in their specialist individual events on the last day of Delhi 2010.

Fox will compete in the rope at 11.00am, Ennis in the hoop at 11.40am, and Hutchison at 13.00 with the ribbon.
