Congratulations to Les Morgan who has completed and qualified as a RCCC Technical Coach. Les is one of the first to qualify as a Level 2 coach under the new coach education structure.
In association with Sportscotland, the Royal Club revised the structure for coach education in 2007 and developed new qualifications. The new qualifications are currently being endorsed with the UK Coaching Certification. The UKCC is an endorsement of standard with the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework. The Technical Coach is equivalent to standard of SQA Level 5 National Certificate.
We acknowledge that the Technical Coach qualification is in its infancy and we are continuing to develop the award. To date, the Royal Club have delivered eight Technical Coach Courses. We are aware that interpretation of requirements for accreditation is difficult for pioneer coaches and Les having attended one of the first in Oct 2009 should be commended in his achievement of his qualification. We appreciate that the new qualification is challenging and would like to commend all his hard work, effort and commitment to coaching.
Sport Moray Recognition Awards 2010
Moray Junior Curling Club
By Chair Person Alan Campbell
I had the privilege last night to find myself attending the above event representing MJCC
I am delighted to say that Moray Junior Curling Club had been nominated and then short-listed in the category Club Level Award.
It transpires the parent of one of our junior members had nominated the club and with a little help from one of our own numbers submitted appropriate forms etc.
Sadly we were beaten on the night to the overall award but none the less the club comes out of the proceedings very well.
What perhaps is more important than anything however is that the combined efforts of the committee, the coach and admin team (and to a large degree those of the Moray Province Development Group) are being very much appreciated and I hope like me the parental and continued club members enthusiasm and overall support will now spur us on to bigger and greater things!!
