Three Super League players charged

4th April 2011

Three players will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday afternoon after being charged with offences committed during last weekend’s Engage Super League Round 8 fixtures.

Hull FC half-back Sean Long has been charged with a Grade D offence of intentional striking with the forearm/elbow in the 75th minute of his side’s 20-18 defeat to Castleford Tigers at the KC Stadium on Friday. If found guilty, Long faces a suspension of three to five matches.

Castleford Tigers player Willie Isa has been charged with a Grade B offence for making dangerous contact with Hull FC’s Epalahame Lauaki in the 34th minute of the same contest.

Wigan Warriors’ Jeff Lima has been charged with a Grade B offence of making dangerous contact on Leeds Rhinos’ Chris Clarkson during the 47th minute of Friday’s 22-22 draw at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

The players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel earlier today.

Catalan Dragons hooker Ian Henderson has been cautioned for making dangerous contact on Warrington Wolves prop Paul Wood during their Super League fixture on Sunday. Crusaders full-back Clinton Schifcofske also received a caution for use of the knee whilst in possession of the ball following his side’s victory over Salford City Reds on Saturday.

The cautions will remain on the players disciplinary records for consideration in the event of future incidents.
