With 100 days to go until the Olympic Games, British Olympic Association volleyball player of the year Dami Bakare will deliver a special coaching session to pupils hoping to represent Barking and Dagenham at this year’s Balfour Beatty London Youth Games.

The 22 year old Bakare plays the sport professionally for VC Argex Duvel Puurs in the Belgian League and is a former London Youth Games competitor, one of an estimated 50 former London Youth Games competitors who are expected to compete at London 2012.

In the most important sporting year London has ever known, the 2012 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games has expanded to feature 80 competitions this year - 20 more than 2011 - enabling thousands more young Londoners to take part in competitive sport.
Now part of the Government’s nationwide School Games programme and supported by Sport England National Lottery funding, the London Youth Games now features more schools events within its calendar, to build on the record-breaking 71,000 youngsters who took part in last year’s Games.
