Britain's grassroots riders will face battle of their own

12th July 2012

As the world’s top riders compete for that coveted Olympic Gold in Greenwich, Britain’s most talented amateur riders will contest a prestigious title of their own.

The British Riding Clubs Horse Trials Championships sponsored by South Essex Insurance Brokers will take place at Aston-le-Walls, Northamptonshire from 3-5 August 2012.

Competitors from the 23 BRC areas across the UK have been vying for a place at the championships for the past few months and teams will travel to the Midlands from the south of Cornwall and far north of Scotland to contest the finals.

There will be more than 500 competitors taking part, ensuring that the championships will be as competitive as ever. The on-site stabling creates an excellent atmosphere with many barbeques and parties carrying on into the small hours of the morning.

The event is being run over the popular long format style, incorporating roads and tracks and a steeplechase as well as the cross-country course itself, one of the few championships still to include these challenges.
