Eilidh safely through to semis

Eilidh Child qualified safely for tomorrow night’s 400m hurdles semi-finals, finishing third in her heat in the Olympic Stadium today.
Eilidh, who is coached at the University of Bath by Malcolm Arnold, UK Athletics National Events Coach Hurdles, clocked a time of 56.14 in her heat.
“My strides were all over the place in the back straight and I panicked a bit, but I’m just relieved I’ve done enough to make the semi-finals,” she said. "The crowd cheered me on the whole way home and I think that's what got me round."
Eilidh goes again the semi-finals at 8.15pm tomorrow (Monday).
Tomorrow Dai Greene returns to action in the men’s 400m hurdles final. Dai goes in lane three in a race that gets underway at 8.45pm. If you’re not lucky enough to have a ticket, come and watch it on our video wall at the University of Bath Sports Training Village.
Meanwhile, the GB rhythmic gymnastics group, who train at the University of Bath, have now transferredfrom the University to the Olympic Village ahead of their Olympic debut on Thursday (9 August).
