Academy players score successes in Ireland

Team Bath MCTA Tennis Academy player Seb Rey produced a strong performance to take the boys’ singles title at the Rushbrooke ITF grade 5 tennis tournament in County Cork, Ireland.
 
Seb, the top seed, beat fellow Brit Simon Pritchard to win the final 6-4, 6-3.
 
Also in Ireland, Brigit Folland won the girls’ doubles title at the grade 5 Donnybrook tournament partnering Rebecca Smaller. The three seeds beat the British pairing of Emily Arbuthnott and Anna Popescu 7-5, 3-6 (10-8) in the final.
 
They also also reached the final at the Rushbrooke ITF but this time they went down to top seeds Freya Christie and Alannah Griffin (GBR) 6-2, 6-2 in the final.
 
Finn Bass reached the final of the boys’ under-14 grade 3 tournament at the National Tennis Centre in Dublin, but the four seed went down to two-seed Carles Sarrio Tamarit 6-3, 6-0 in the final.
 
There was an all Team Bath boys’ singles final at the Slovenian Junior Open grade 4 tournament, with Aman Agarwal coming back from a set down to beat Samm Butler 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.  Samm also made the quarter-finals of the doubles partnering Callum Poland-Smith.
 
And at the Loughborough Juniors, Lewis Hunnisett won the boys’ under-12s singles beating Reuben Shahidullah 6-2, 6-3 in the final.
