Murray into Shanghai quarter-finals

Andy Murray is through to the quarter-finals in Shanghai after defeating Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-2, 6-2.
 
The British No.1 who received a bye in his opening round match and then a walkover after his opponent Florian Mayer of Germany withdrew because of a wrist injury, won his first match of the week in less than an hour.
 
Murray who is looking to seal his third consecutive title in Shanghai, faces Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic in the last eight.
 
British doubles duo Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins also saw success after defeating third seeds Horia Tecau & Robert Lindstedt 6-4, 7-5 to seal their place in the quarter-finals.
 
Meanwhile Jonny Marray & Treat Huey were in action but were defeated in the second round.

Murray receives walkover in Shanghai

 
British No.1 Andy Murray has received a walkover into round three of the Shanghai Rolex Masters after his opponent Florian Mayer of Germany withdrew from the match due to a wrist injury.
 
"You never know whether it's a good or a bad thing," said Murray. "Whoever I play now will have played two matches in these conditions. It may take a little while for me to adjust."
 
Murray's next potential opponent is either Alexandr Dolgopolov or Gilles Simon.
 
British duo Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins have also progressed in Shanghai after a 5-7, 6-4, 10-5 win over alternates Fabio Fognini & Martin Klizan.

The Defending Champion Returns
 
Gold medallist and US Open Champion Andy Murray has returned to China looking to claim his third consecutive Shanghi Rolex Masters title. Having received a bye into the second round, the world No.3 will face either Australian Bernard Tomic or German Florian Mayer in his first encounter of the tournament.
 
In the doubles, 2012 Wimbledon Champion Jonny Marray has teamed up with Philippine Treat Huey. After a tight three set victory against Gong Mao-Xin & Ze Zhang the duo set up a second round meeting with seventh seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna.
 
British duo Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins also take to the court this week and play Fabio Fognini & Martin Klizan.
