Keith Senior’s ‘Quest 13’ Challenge Revealed

8th August 2013

After much speculation and anticipation, former Leeds Rhinos star Keith Senior has finally revealed what his Leeds Rugby Foundation ‘Quest 13’ challenge will in tale.

The number 13 may be unlucky for some, but Senior will be hoping the challenge of Quest 13 does not turn out unlucky for him, as he plans to run 13 miles, cycle 113km before finishing with a 13 mile row, all in 13 hours!
Over the past few weeks, Senior has been having some fun with supporters tweeting in their suggestions as to what they would like to see him along with Deputy Chairman Bob Bowman, his daughter Jess and Development Officer Danny Edmondson, take part in for 13 hours.

An egg and spoon race, the ‘cracker challenge’ and showering for 13 hours were all ideas suggested and the man himself did not disappoint as he starred in a series of Leeds Rugby Foundation ‘teaser’ videos.

But now the details of this eagerly awaited challenge have been revealed, the significance of the event name ‘Quest 13’ can also be detailed.

Firstly, the number 13 totals the number of players in a Rugby League side, the year 2013, the distances set out in this challenge, as well as 13 being the total number of full seasons Keith Senior has played in for Leeds Rhinos.

And Kevin Sinfield, who officially launched the event today at Leeds Rugby Academy, of course wears the famous number 13 shirt.

Key partners and Leeds Rhinos Premier Suite Members, Quest Solutions UK LTD are in their tenth season sponsoring the Rhinos socks and shorts and have sponsored a number of first team players over past years.

They have kindly sponsored this exciting event too and wish all the team success with the challenge.

The spectacular Quest 13 event will take place on Friday 16th August and will commence from Headingley Carnegie Stadium where the group will take to the road before returning to the stadium to complete the ‘quest’ for success on the rowing machines prior to the Leeds Rhinos clash with Hull KR, live on SkySports.

And Senior is excited about the challenge that lies ahead, he said:“Being a former Rugby League player and with fitness playing a major part in my life, I always need challenges to motivate myself and this is certainly a ‘challenge’.
“And having trained for the Leeds 10k, I feel I am in good shape ahead of next week’s Quest 13 event.
“It is a great cause which Kevin Sinfield has thrown his weight behind and I urge everyone to support myself, Bob and the rest of the team. Without your help we cannot continue to change lives through sport.
“I look forward to seeing you all in the final stages of the 13 mile row at Headingley Carnegie Stadium next Friday.”
