Andy Murray moves into the Australian Open fourth round
18th January 2014Andy Murray moved into the fourth round at the Australian Open after a straight sets victory over Feliciano Lopez. Murray, who is yet to drop a set in the tournament, took two hours 15 minutes to defeat the Lopez 7-6(2), 6-4, 6-2 to reach the fourth round in Melbourne.
He will now face France’s Stephane Robert who got through qualifying as a lucky loser. Talking after the match Murray said: “Today was a big step up for me. Feliciano is a top 30 player and is a tricky opponent to play. I know I have a good record against him, but that doesn’t change the fact he’s not an easy guy to play against. He’s a very different type of opponent, so it was a good test for me, and I did well.”
