The All England Netball Association Ltd (AENA) is the National Governing Body and is responsible for all aspects of Netball in England. The Head Office, situated in Hitchin, Hertfordshire deals with the day to day administration of the Association through its 20 full time employees and 10 part time employees. In addition , various aspects of the work are dealt with by a network of full and part time people working for the Association in the Counties and Regions, carrying out specific roles to ensure continued growth and development of the sport. The differing needs of each area of work of the Association is headed up by the appropriate committees – these include Technical Committees such as Coaching, Umpiring, as well as committees to deal with Events, a Schools Committee and a Regional Chairpersons Committee. The Management Committee is responsible for implementing policy and is made up from the Chairpersons of each of the Committees, as well as its Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer elected annually by the Members at the AGM of the All England Netball Association Ltd. All AENA Committee Members work on a voluntary basis. Since the AENA is a Limited Company, the Management Committee Members are the Directors of the Association. The Country is divided into 10 geographical Regions with each Region sub-divided into 57 Counties and 3 Armed Forces Associations. Within the 57 affiliated Counties there are approximately 372 Leagues spread across England. Broken down further, the AENA’s membership consists of 3,572 registered Clubs made up from 55,806 individual players. 2,794 Schools are also affiliated with 40 Junior Leagues in operation. The Regions and Counties are autonomous but are governed by the Constitution and Bye-laws of the Governing Body. Their own Constitutions would be amended to suit their local requirements. Each County is required to affiliate its Playing Members, Coaches and Umpires to the All England Netball Association, with the fee being determined by the Management Committee. In addition to funds coming in from the Affiliation fees, the AENA receives substantial grants from the English Sports Council to increase participation and raise standards of performance. Lottery money has also been made available for the implementation of the World Class Performance Programme to help us achieve our aim of becoming No.1 in the World. Income is generated through Sponsorship andother commercial ventures including the sale of Publications and Merchandise. Revenue is also obtained through Event Ticket Sales and the licensing of products such as netballs and clothing. The wider picture of Netball in the World sees England as a Member of the Federation of European Netball Associations (FENA), which in turn is one of the 5 geographical divisions of the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA). Many other Countries have their own Governing Body. There are currently 40 Countries belonging to IFNA which is the body responsible for the compilation of the Rules, to which each Country must adhere
