One day to go! Karsten Warholm weighs in to advise Norwegian hope

16th July 2025

Inspired by the deeds of 400m hurdles world record holder Karsten Warholm, Henriette Jaeger will be attempting a medal assault on multiple fronts on home soil at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Bergen from 17-20 July

Over the course of the next four days, Jaeger is planning to contest the 200m and 400m individually as well as the 4x400m relay at Bergen 2025, she revealed at the pre-event press conference on Wednesday (16).

“I remember that Karsten did the 400m and 400m hurdles back in 2017 so I called him on FaceTime and he gave me some advice. He said: 'you just need to believe in yourself, have fun, conserve your energy and do your best,” said Jaeger.

Meanwhile, European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov stressed the importance of the U23 age group for developing world class athletes.
