Get ready for Super-Bol Sunday! Femke Bol makes her 800m debut

8th February 2026

It's now one day until Super-Bol Sunday  – and one of the most anticipated debuts in athletics history.

On Sunday (8), Dutch superstar Femke Bol starts a brand-new chapter — making her international debut over 800m in Metz, live on the European Athletics website from 14:35 CET.

Twice 400m hurdles world champion, indoor 400m world-record holder and now… stepping up into the unknown.

Bol herself calls it “scary” and “exciting” — we call the must-see athletics event of the year.

She’s chosen familiar ground too. The Meeting Metz Moselle Athlélor Crédit Mutuel is where Bol has dominated the 400m for five straight years.

But there are no guarantees in her new event.

A stacked field including European silver medallist Gabriela Gajanova (SVK) and Switzerland’s experienced Lore Hoffman is ready to test her from the gun.

And that’s just the headline act.

Also live from Metz:

  • World champion Ditaji Kambundji (SUI) opens her season in the 60m hurdles
  • Long jump fireworks with world champion Mattia Furlani (ITA)
  • European indoor record-holder Attila Molnár (HUN) back in the 400m
  • Pole vault clash between Tina Šutej (SLO) and Amálie Švábíková (CZE)

One Sunday. One stream. One fearless move from one of the sport’s biggest stars.
