Sweden’s Andreas Almgren is back and hunting another blistering performance after smashing the European record in Valencia on 11 January with 26:45 — despite losing his pacemaker early.

He’s in electric form and has already rewritten the record books four times in the past year.

Great Britain’s Eilish McColgan lowered the European record to 30:08 in Valencia — just one week after Belgium’s Jana Van Lent set it. Now they meet head-to-head.

Add Megan Keith (GBR), Klara Lukan (SLO), Sarah Lahti (SWE), Maureen Koster (NED), Ababel Yeshaneh (ETH) and Miriam Chebet (KEN)… and you have another race where history could be made.

Castellon has already seen a women’s world record (29:14, set by Yalemzerf Yehualaw in 2022 and the second-fastest men’s time in history (26:31 by Yomif Kejelcha in 2025).
