Summer of LIVE action starts at Belfast Classic with Azu, Kimeli, Pattison

Multiple world and European medallists at The Belfast Classic fire the starter gun on a summer of live streamed athletics on Saturday (9 May).
The meeting features a fascinating men’s 1500m including Belgium’s world 5000m silver medallist Isaac Kimeli, Great Britain’s 2023 world 800m bronze medallist Ben Pattison, twice European U23 cross country champion Will Barnicoat and Tokyo Olympic 1500m finalist Michal Rozmys from Poland.
Reigning European indoor 60 champion Jeremiah Azu will be in action in the 200m at the World Athletics Continental Tour (WACT) Challenger meeting.
He will also race with his Welsh teammates, including his brother Alex, in the men's 4x100m in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, just before the European Athletics Championships.
Also worth watching are:
- European U20 champion Charlotte Henrich (GBR) and Ireland's Sophie Becker in the women's 400m
- Nordic prospect Sebastian Lörstad (SWE) in the men's 3000m
- Australia's Catriona Bisset - training partner of Keely Hodgkinson - in the women's 800m
- European indoor 3000m silver medallist Melissa Courtney-Bryant (GBR) in the women’s 1500m
- Leading British athletes Henry Jonas, Justin Davies, Callum Dodds and Will Rabjohns in a strong domestic men's 800m
At least 10 events will be live streamed on the European Athletics channels in May 2026 on the road to the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships from 10-16 August.
