London Calling For World Champions Olyslagers And Tinch

Reigning world and Diamond League champions Nicola Olyslagers (AUS) and Cordell Tinch (USA) will compete at the Novuna London Athletics Meet for the first time on Saturday 18 July.
Olyslagers is Australia’s high jump national record holder with a best of 2.04m from the Diamond League final in Zurich (2025). In addition to her global outdoor World title in Tokyo, she’s a two-time world indoor champion and two-time Olympic silver medallist. She was crowned World Athletics female field athlete of the year in 2025.
“Last year was such a beautiful year, but as I reflected on everything I’d achieved, I found myself even more excited for the future,” said the 29-year-old who won her seventh Australian high jump title in April.
“This will be my first time competing in London since the World Athletics Championships in 2017 and I know it will be a really special experience. I’m so thankful to have this opportunity to return to Europe this summer and to do something that I love.”
Tinch had a breakthrough year in 2025 during which he won five Diamond League races and recorded a 110m hurdles personal best of 12.87 - the joint fourth-fastest of all-time - with victory in Shanghai/Keqiao. His 12.99 winning time in Tokyo for the World Championships was his fifth-fastest ever and earned him his first global medal.
“I learned a lot during my time away from the sport, and I don’t believe I’d be a world champion now if I hadn’t made that call,” said Tinch, who stepped away from the track in 2020 and returned in 2023. “Looking ahead to the 2026 season, I hold myself to a new standard, meaning I approach every competition as the person to beat. I’m very excited to compete for the first time in London.”
The Novuna London Athletics Meet - the world’s biggest one-day athletics event - is the eleventh meeting of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League. The series comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field across four different continents and began in Shanghai/Keqiao on 16 May (as a result of the Mazzraty Doha Meeting being rescheduled from 8 May to 19 June). It concludes with a single final across two days in Brussels (4-5 September).
