Cream of Europe race over 10,000m
The stage is set for a spectacular night of distance racing at the European 10,000m Cup in La Spezia on Saturday (21) — and you can watch every lap live.
Starring European marathon champion Ilias Ouani of Italy, France's European half marathon bronze medallist Valentin Gondouin and Poland's Elzbieta Glinka continuing her meteoric rise from fun runner to record-breaking athlete, it promises to be a thriller.
Expect fearless front-running, national pride, and some of Europe’s fastest athletes going head-to-head over 25 brutal laps. With championship honours and momentum towards the summer season on the line, this is distance racing in its purest form.
The European 10,000m Cup will be streamed live without any geoblocking restrictions on the European Athletics YouTube channel from 17:05pm CEST.
Clash of the Clubs at Castellon
The cream of European club athletics clashes at Castellon at the European Champion Clubs Cup (ECCC) in Castellon, Spain on Saturday (23) and Sunday (24).
Host club Playas de Castellon fields a typically strong team including SPAR European cross country champion Thierry Ndikumwenayo and European indoor bronze medallist Lester Lescay in the 5000m and long jump respectively.
Their ranks are also strengthened by the inclusion of Spanish-based Ethiopian Likina Amebaw, who finished second behind Faith Kipyegon in the 5000m in the Shanghai Diamond League on Saturday, in both the 3000m and 5000m.
However, the hosts will face tough competition from Sporting Clube de Portugal whose team includes world indoor long jump champion Gerson Balde and Ukraine's Mykhaylo Kokhan and Enka Sport Club whose ranks include 2023 European indoor triple jump champion Tugba Danismaz who will be doing double duty having also been entered for the long jump.
The European Champion Clubs Cup will be streamed live on the European Athletics YouTube channel without any geoblocking restrictions from 15:45pm CEST on Saturday and from 9:30 CEST on Sunday.
Olympic champions set to shine
A brilliant line up including Olympic and world gold medallists Malaika Mihambo, Daniel Ståhl and Yemisi Mabry (formerly Ogunleye) are set to explode into the 2026 track and field season at the Internationales Pfingstsportfest Rehlingen on Sunday (24).
Swede Ståhl, the reigning world champion, faces a huge test against Steven Richter in the men's discus. The 23-year-old German went 4th on the all-time list with an enormous hurl of 74.00m in Oklahoma last month.
Current European champion Mihambo of Germany goes up against former European indoor champion Jazmin Sawyers of Great Britain in the women's long jump.
Paris Olympic champion Mabry is matched with Sweden's twice European indoor medallist Fanny Roos in the women's shot put.
On the track, European U23 400m hurdles champion Owe Fischer-Breiholz of Germany, Norway's world 1500m bronze medallist Narve Gilje Nordås and world indoor 800m silver medallist Jemma Reekie of Great Britain are among a packed line-up of stars at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting.
The Internationales Pfingstsportfest Rehlingen will be streamed live on the European Athletics YouTube channel on Sunday (24) from 16:55 CEST.
