Novuna GB & NI Team announced for 2026 IAU 100km World Championships
by 8th June 2026
A strong 12-athlete squad has been selected to represent the Novuna Great Britain and Northern Ireland (GB & NI) team at the 2026 IAU 100km World Championships in Spain on 20 September.
The most recent edition of the championships took place in 2024 in Bengaluru, India, where the Novuna GB & NI team secured team silver in the women’s race and team bronze in the men’s race. Sarah Webster also claimed an individual bronze medal.
It incredible to see that this year’s team features three current ultra-distance world champions. Alex Milne (Hercules Wimbledon) and Naomi Robinson (Daniel Robinson, BRAT) both won individual gold at the 2026 World 50km Championships earlier this year, with Milne now holding the European Record over this distance. Henry Hart (Belgrave Harriers) and Melissah Gibson (100 Marathon Club) were part of the winning teams in India.
The team includes Sarah Webster (Lewes AC), the 24-hour world champion, having taken the title in 2025, setting a World Record in the process with 278.622 km (173.127 miles). Webster also equalled her own European record for 100k this spring, running 7:03:48 in Italy.
Jarlath McKenna (Bristol & West AC) and Hugh Tibbs (Cambridge Harriers) complete the men’s team on the back of strong performances at the British Championships and Trial race and Jacqueline Wilson (Scottish Athletics, Robbie Simspon) earns her first vest for Great Britain after competing for Scotland on multiple occasions.
They are joined by four athletes who were pre-selected in March: Thomas Almond (Reigate Priory AC, Robbie Britton) and Dave Barratt (Salford Harriers) for the men’s team, alongside Nicole Funnell (Springfield Striders RC, Edwina Sutton) and Katie Young (Running Club, Neil Bryant) in the women’s team.
