A World Class Line-up Confirmed For Novuna London Athletics Meet

Multiple Olympic, World and European champions and world record holders feature on the official start lists for the Novuna London Athletics Meet taking place on Saturday 18 July.
A London favourite Femke Broeders-Bol [NED] will compete in the women’s 800m, Olympic Champion Julien Alfred [LCA] who ran a world lead time in the women’s 200m last week in Monaco and Olympic Champion Letsile Tebogo [BOT] will line up in the 100m to name a few standout athletes.
Following thrilling Diamond League fixtures in Oregon and Monaco over the past ten days, the London leg now promises to be a spectacular highlight of the season. Final few tickets are still on sale.
The athletes confirmed having an astonishing 71 medals between them, from the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Japan and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, across both individual and relay disciplines plus Ja’Kobe Tharp [USA] the men’s 110m hurdle world record holder.
The women’s 800m will feature Femke Broeders-Bol [NED], who step has stepped up in distance from the 400m hurdles which she has won multiple Olympic and World medals in. Also joining the international challenge are Tsige Duguma [ETH], the Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist.
They will face a stellar British contingent led by Paris 2024 Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson [GBR] and 2025 World Championships silver medallist Georgia Hunter Bell [GBR]. Also set to compete is Issy Boffey [GBR] who had a standout season in 2026. Rising star Phoebe Gill [GBR] will make her Diamond League debut before turning her attention to the World Athletics U20 Championships later this summer. Completing the line-up are Sarah Billings [AUS] and Addison Wiley [USA].
The men’s 800m brings together one of the strongest generations of endurance runners to the London Stadium. Emmanuel Wanyonyi [KEN] leads the field as the Paris 2024 Olympic champion, fresh off setting a new world record in Monaco in the 1000m last week. Marco Arop [CAN] the Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist, while Bryce Hoppel [USA] has established himself among the world’s elite a fourth-place finish at the Paris Olympics, setting a new US record in the process.
European contenders include Max Burgin [GBR], an Olympic and World Championships finalist, and fellow Briton Ben Pattison [GBR], who claimed bronze at the 2023 World Championships. Jake Wightman [GBR] 1500m Tokyo World silver medallist in 1500m, while Mark English [IRE] has been a consistent force with multiple European Championship medals, both indoors and outdoors.
Peter Bol [AUS] has been a trailblazer for Australia, finishing fourth at the Tokyo Olympics and Cian McPhillip [IRE] and Tobias Grønstad [NOR] complete the line up.
The Emsley Carr Mile brings together an exceptional field led by Olympic silver medallist and two-time World Indoor champion Josh Kerr [GBR], who has announced his intention to target the mile world record in London.
Joining the Briton are Paris Olympic bronze medallist Yared Nuguse [USA] and Hobbs Kessler [USA], both regular contenders on this year’s Wanda Diamond League circuit, alongside fellow American Nathan Green [USA]. Mohamed Abdilaahi [GER] arrives in strong form following a Diamond League victory over 3000m earlier in the season at Shaoxing, while compatriot and two-time Olympian Robert Farken [GER] returns to London after running a mile personal best in Eugene.
Completing the line-up is Neil Gourley [GBR], the European indoor mile record holder and 2025 World Indoor silver medallist, creating one of the most anticipated races of this year’s Novuna London Athletics Meet.
Julien Alfred [LCA] returns to London Stadium after a blistering run in Monaco, where she clocked the third-fastest women’s 200m time in history, a world lead and personal best. The double Olympic medallist will defend her London title against a world-class field that includes already-announced stars Gabby Thomas [USA], Dina Asher-Smith [GBR] and Amy Hunt [GBR]. Shaunae Miller-Uibo [BAH] and Anavia Battle [USA] and newly crowned British Champion, Success Eduan [GBR], complete the line up.
In the men’s 100m, Letsile Tebogo [BOT], the reigning Olympic 200m champion and World Championship medallist in both the 100m and 200m, returns to London. Joining him Jordan Anthony [USA], the 2026 World Indoor 60m champion, who recently finished second behind Oblique Seville [JAM] at the Monaco Diamond League. African sprinters, Gift Leotlela [RSA] and Kayinsola Ajayi [NGR] will join British trio of, Zharnel Hughes [GBR], Jeremiah Azu [GBR] and British Champion Romell Glave [GBR] to complete the line up.
In the women’s 3000m, Paris 2024 Olympic 1500m silver medallist Jessica Hull [AUS] heads a world-class international field. She is joined by African 5000m champion Medina Eisa [ETH], who arrives in London following victory at the Doha Diamond League. Cross-country specialist Marta Alemayo [ETH] also steps onto the track after successfully defending her World Cross Country U20 title in Tallahassee earlier this year. The young Ethiopian took bronze over 3000m at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima and set world U18 bests both indoors and outdoors across the distance last season.
The women’s long jump features 2023 European Indoor champion and multiple European medallist Jazmin Sawyers [GBR] alongside 2026 World Indoor silver medallist Larissa Iapichino [ITA] who sent a European lead across the pond at the Pre Fontaine Classic in Eugene. They will face a world-class field that already includes Malaika Mihambo [GER], Claire Bryant [USA] and Agate de Sousa [POR].
Fresh from becoming the second-highest pole vaulter in history earlier this year, Emmanouil Karalis [GRE] will make his London debut as he faces Mondo Duplantis on the Swede’s highly anticipated return to the capital after a decade away. Joining them is Kurtis Marschall [AUS], meaning all three medallists from the recent global championships will reunite in London. Sam Kendricks [USA] also returns to the meeting for the first time since 2018, completing a field that includes the entire Paris 2024 Olympic podium.
A firm favourite with athletes and fans alike, the Novuna London Athletics Meet is the eleventh stop of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which features 15 of the sport’s most prestigious meetings across four continents. The series concludes with a two-day final in Brussels in September.
The relay events are always among the highlights of the programme, with teams from Australia, Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands joining two Great Britain and Northern Ireland quartets in what promises to be another memorable spectacle at London Stadium. The national men’s 800m and women's 400m races will feature the very best of Great Britian’s athletes relishing the chance to perform in front of strong home crowd.
The para-athletics programme brings together an outstanding collection of international Paralympic champions, world champions and world record holders.
In the men’s ambulant 100m, attention will focus on Salum Ageze Kashafali [NOR], the Paralympic champion and world record holder, alongside British Paralympic medallists Zac Shaw [GBR] and Thomas Young [GBR].
The men’s ambulant 1500m features world record holder Ben Sandilands [GBR], the Paralympic champion and one of the world’s leading middle-distance para athletes, while the T54 wheelchair 1500m is headlined by wheelchair racing legend Marcel Hug [SUI], a seven-time Paralympic champion and multiple world champion, alongside multiple world medallists Brent Lakatos [CAN] and new dad Nathan Maguire [GBR].
In the women’s ambulant 100m, British sprint star Sophie Hahn [GBR], a double Paralympic champion and former world record holder, is joined by fellow Paralympic medallists Livvy Breen [GBR], Anna Grimaldi [NZL], Orla Comerford [IRE] and long jump superstar Fleur Jong [NED], one of the most dominant athletes in world para sport.
