Before they become household names, watch Europe's best young athletes compete for continental glory at the Rieti 2026 European Athletics U18 Championships on 16-19 July.

At the official pre-event press conference on Wednesday (15), five of the championships' biggest stars shared their excitement ahead of what promises to be a thrilling four days of competition.

  • Italian sprint sensation Kelly Doualla is relishing the opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd and hopes the support will inspire her to even greater performances as she targets championship success.
  • Fellow Italian Alessia Succo, the European U18 record holder in the 100m hurdles, is eager to build on an outstanding season and seize the opportunity to win gold on home soil.
  • Italian shot put talent Antony Del Pioluogo is looking forward to competing against Europe's best and believes the passionate Rieti crowd will help create an unforgettable atmosphere.
  • Slovenian high jumper Živa Remic described competing at the championships as a dream come true and said she is excited to test herself on one of the biggest stages of her young career.
  • Great Britain's Tito Odunaike arrives as one of Europe's leading triple jump prospects and is ready to challenge for the title after a breakthrough season that has seen him emerge as one of the favourites.
