Audrey Werro produced one of the moments of the championships tonight, holding off Keely Hodgkinson and Femke Broeders-Bol in a sensational women’s 800m final to win gold in a championship record 1:54.81.

Warholm does it again — Karsten Warholm stormed to a fourth successive European 400m hurdles title, smashing his own championship record with 46.63.
An Italian double — Nadia Battocletti completed another remarkable 5000m/10,000m double, while Gianmarco Tamberi added nine centimetres to his season’s best to claim a fourth European high jump crown.
