The shortlists are in – and now it’s your turn to have your say!
Vote for your European Athletes of the Year and you could win exclusive prizes.
There are 40 athletes shortlisted across four categories, featuring some of the standout performers of an unforgettable 2026 season, including:
- 19 gold medallists from the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships
- Four athletes who broke world records in 2026
- 12 gold medallists from the Rieti 2026 European Athletics U18 Championships
- 11 gold medallists from the World Athletics U20 Championships
Three athletes who broke European U20 records in 2026. The four categories are:
- Men’s European Athlete of the Year
- Women’s European Athlete of the Year
- Men’s Rising Star
- Women’s Rising Star
The three finalists in each category will be announced from 1 October, before the overall winners are crowned at the prestigious Golden Tracks awards ceremony in Lausanne on 24 October.
