week 1 2010/11
1st day of the new season & all is looking well when a phone call from big mad Andy Bryant sets the first test of the season for the SSMFL committee.
"Seafar Villa have only got 7 players & 1 of them has a broken collar bone & they wont take to the field! I mean its not like a broken leg is it? Wouldnt happen in my day I'll tell ye! Players noo a days!" Says big Geordie in his inimitable style.
Other than that all goes well on a day that sees goals fly in, in all divisions.
Colin Coles is on the phone to match sec JW singing "I dont wanna talk about it, how we lost those goals" (aka rod stewart!)
Kenny Pardoe scores direct from a corner for A.S. Airdrie & Victoria Park B & Hardgate share the 1st nil nil scoreline in 25 years of amateur football. Rumour has it there was a corner in that game too!
Old timers Blochairn Star B get off to a flyer in Division 2 & I'm reliably informed big Skid lasted the whole game without a shot at goal!
